Differentiation is a proactive way to engage all
students. It is a way to reach out to today's diverse learners, including special education and ESL students. Differentiation allows students to engage in their preferred learning domains. Differentiation is flexible and always changing. It allows learners to be grouped by a specific skill and then allows the opportunity for new learning groups to emerge. It does not hold students into a high or low group. Differentiation allows students to engage in their learning style, so the skills they learn are more connected to the standards that are being taught. It is the tool which can lead to greater student motivation and increased student achievement. |
