"Hoo knows what differentiation is not!"
Differentiation is not the same as individualized instruction. It is not having twenty different assignments. It is not a way to group students into high, medium and low groups. Differentiation is not a way to teach to just the slow learners. It is not meant to be permanent grouping. Differentiation is not extra work. It is not just given to the top students to do when they finish early. It is not teaching done in addition to the standards. It not different than the standards. Differentiation IS however, a vehicle to access the standards in multiple ways.
